Los
Urrutias
A relatively
new resort, Los Urrutias has almost a mile of golden beach with
good facilities, enhanced by an unusual offshore marina in a hexagonal
shape. Behind the beach is a modern, spaciously laid out town with
an attractive promenade and public spaces. The coast either side
is protected land, preserving the quality of the environment.
Los
Urrutias shopping
There is a good supermarket very near the house, with fresh meat
and vegetables. The village also has a good newsagent, various bread
shops and a bar where stamps are sold bank and bars. We also find
the local hardware and associated beachwear shops very helpful but
ask for the dictionary they don't speak English. There is
a local market in the village on Thursdays in high season
The
views from Los Urrutias are breathtaking looking across the Mar
Menor Lagoon towards La Manga strip.
A short
drive away is the town of Los Nietos where you can take the train
Cartegena and which runs every two hours.
