San Pedro may be how we imagine a typical Spanish town to be. There
are excellent restaurants serving locally caught seafood and where
you can soak up the atmosphere of the real Spain. The beach is wonderful
and each Monday the town bustles with activity from the local market.
There are lots of activities, including water sports such as sailing,
wind surfing, jet skiing, canoeing, fishing, para gliding, water skiing,
boat trips, horse riding, bird watching. There are numerous banks,
shops, cafes, bars and restaurants and night clubs.
The
local therapeutic mud baths are a particular favourite as they are
said to heal skin complaints and rheumatism. There is a nature reserve
located on the salt lakes. This area is seen of prime ecological importance,
is home to over one hundred species of bird and is used by migratory
flamingos on the journey to Africa. The local area is very flat and
lends itself to cycling with dedicated cycle lanes commonplace.
There are also a number of golf courses close by, Villa Martin, Las
Ramblas, Campoamor, Roda Golf and La Finca are only 15 minutes drive
away and not forgetting the championship courses of La Manga.
Torrevieja is within a 10 minute drive and is surrounded by salt lakes
which are home to a variety of wildlife including pink flamingos which
are protected within the La Mata nature reserve. The town has a large
marina, fun fair, promenande which is bustling from early evening
with street artists and stalls, a harbour walk and abundant bars,
shops and restaurants.

Mitica theme park, Mundomar sea life attraction and Aqualandia water
